Egypt: Government Launched Economic, Social Reform Program in Light of Societal Dialogue

The Cabinet announced on Sunday 10/3/2013 that the economic and social reform program is now stronger than the agreement agreed on formerly with the International Monetary Fund.

Ambassador Alla Al Hadidy, the Cabinet Spokesman said in a statement following the economic group meeting with Prime Minister Hisham Qandil that the government has already launched an economic and social reform program in the light of the societal dialogue adding the program has taken much strength as it strikes a balance between economic burdens and social privileges.

Hadidy said the Cabinet has recently taken a package of measures and facilities that aim at encouraging investment, developing economic reform program, referring to the dispatch of bills on income and sales as well as stamp tax to the Shura council.

He said the government has offered new guarantees to investors to assure them about the same that could allow them to inject more investments and luring new investment.
