ICC prosecutor has applied to have charges against former head of civil service Francis Muthaura dropped on grounds of inadequate evidence hence no prospects of prosecution at trial.
Speaking at the status conference hearing for Muthaura and president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta, Bensouda said that reaching the decision was "hard" and was arrived at following lengthy investigations. "The decision to drop Muthaura's case has been reached after we reviewed all the evidence we had as prosecution," she said.
