Liberia: Judiciary Embarks On Mass Dismissals

The Judiciary here has embarked on a process to replace unsuitable employees inherited during war years by college and high school graduates besides an ongoing retirement program, affecting 62 employees.

At the opening of the Supreme Court of Liberia for the March 2013 Term of Court on Monday, Liberia's Acting Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor said: "As you may know, we inherited a large number of employees during the war years that are not particularly suited for the posts they occupy today." He stressed the need for trained manpower for the effective delivery of justice.
