Nigeria: 196 Army Cadets Take Oath of Allegiance

Makurdi — Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, at the weekend in Makurdi, administered oath of allegiance to the 196 Direct Short Service Commission cadets of the Nigeria Army, Course 20/12 Batch. Ihejirika, represented by Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno, charged the 2Oth set of graduating cadets to uphold the core values and ethics of the Nigerian Army.

"I charge you all to be loyal, disciplined, hardworking, and exhibit good character and competence to be able to face the challenges ahead. As a nation, we are today faced with terrorism, vandalism of oil pipelines, ethnic and religious crises, so prepare your minds to overcome these challenges", he said.
