Namibia: Man Arrested Again for Having Sex With a Dog

For the second time in less than six months, Ben Katjihanda (32) was arrested last week on a charge of bestiality in Walvis Bay.

At midnight last Sunday, a dog owner in Kuisebmond allegedly heard someone knocking and rattling at the kiosk in front of the house. When he went out to see what was going on he allegedly found Katjihanda having sex with his dog behind the kiosk.

He immediately informed the police, who arrested Katjihanda.

Katjihanda appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court last Tuesday and was granted bail of N$1 000. He has not paid bail and is still in custody.

According to Deputy Commissioner Ottilie Kashupuulwa, this is the second time Katjihanda has been arrested for bestiality.

He still has a pending case from last December when he was allegedly also caught having sex with a dog.

"It was a different dog from another area that time," she said.

In the first case he was granted bail of N$500, which he did pay.
