Libya: Tainted Alcohol Kills 51 Libyans

At least 51 people are dead and hundreds in hospital after drinking methanol-tainted alcohol, Libya Herald reported on Monday (March 11th).

In Tripoli, the homemade brew killed 38 people, the health ministry said. Two women were among the victims.

"It's the first experience of a disaster like this," a doctor at Tripoli hospital said. "We're not trained to deal with a situation like this. The hospital does not have the capacity for such a large number coming."
