Egypt: Sisi: We Shall Face Up to Any Attempt to Infringe Upon Egypt's Security, Its Army

The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said the Armed Forces men are working with maximum vigilance and combat capability in order to maintain the State sovereignty, to secure its land and coastal borders and to face up to any bid to violate the security of Egypt and the Armed Forces.

This came at the meeting on Wednesday 13/3/2013 held by Sisi with border guard officers and non commissioned officers in presence of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces LT General Sedqi Sobhy.

Sisi said the Armed Forces are a national body that it is undertaking its assignment in full neutrality and in line with deeply rooted principles and ethics.

He said the Egyptian army is one of the greatest armies of the world.

He said maintaining the security of Egypt's borders and national security is a sacred assignment that is taken seriously, hailing the role of frontier in securing Egypt's borders.

At his dialogue with the frontier guard officers, the minister said the Armed Forces are keen to develop the frontier guard units and to supply them with sophisticated arms and equipment, stressing the importance of giving more attention to the Armed Forces personnel with the aim of controlling all border checking points and preventing infiltration, smuggling of arms and drugs.

Sisi listened to suggestion by the Armed Forces personnel to combat smugglers, stressing that border guards will remain a key shield of the Egyptian national security.
