The Ministry of Finance has launched for the first time, an online document tracking system (DOCTRAK) which provides the staff 100% accountability in tracking their documents through the system.
The Document Tracking System is a web-based application that provides more flexibility to staff in streamlining how they complete and update a wide array of documents within the system.
The web-based application also completely eliminates faxing documents and reduces the movement of staffs from one office to another in search of documents that are being processed.
According to a Press Release issued by the Ministry of Finance Media Services, the system will ensure the timely processing and easy location of documents within the system. The Release says the DOCTRAK will also allow staff to remain in their offices and check the status of their documents online.
Speaking at the launch of the new system Thursday, Deputy Finance Minister for Administration, Jordan Sulonteh, challenged employees to make maximum use of the application.
According to Minister Sulonteh, the Ministry of Finance has made huge investment in the project. He encouraged the staff to learn more about the system to ensure its consistent usage. Minister Sulonteh said the DOCTRAK project is part of the modernization process currently taking place at the Ministry of Finance.
The DOCTRACK is a software system that is primarily used for tracking documents while they are being processed through the system. The system alert staffs through their mobile phones acknowledging receipt of their documents when they are logged into the system.
