Angola: Sonangol Announces Discovery of More Oil in Block 15/06

The National Fuel Society of AngolaSonangol E.P Angola and Eni today announced another oil discovery in Block 15/06, with the drilling of the well-1ST Vandumbu in deepwater offshore Angola, ANGOP has learned.

According to a press note from the Angolan concessionaire, it is the eighth oil discovery made in this block. The well-1ST Vandumbu, drilled in a depth water of 976 meters, has reached a total depth of 3480 meters.

The results of the sensitivity studies performed based on the data collection of Vandumbu-1 and Vandumbu-1ST wells to assess the expected productivity and its rate of daily production, revealed that the well-1ST Vandumbu has a production potential above 5,000 barrels of oil per day (STBD).

Sonangol EP is the national concessionaire and Eni Angola is the operator of Block 15/06 with 60% interest, with the partners Sonangol P & P (15%) and Total (15%), Falcon Oil Holding Angola SA (5% ) and Statoil Angola Block 15/06 (5%).
