Angola: Foreign Ministry Devotes Greater Attention to ICTs

Luanda — The telecommunications and information technology, as part of the Angolan diplomacy, should draw greater attention in the near future according to the Foreign minister.

Georges Chikoti made this view while speaking at the opening ceremony of the seminar on Information Technologies and Communications, for attachés of telecommunications, taking place today, Friday, at the headquarters of the institution.

He said that Mirex should devote more efforts to enable the sector to improve its performance, adding that the promotion of this seminar is to provide a starting point for which there is considerable improvement in terms of equipment and technological knowledge.

He stressed that telecommunications and information technologies represent, today, essential to the foreign ministry in its intra-government work, especially in communications with the foreign missions execution.

"In fact, today we need an attaché of telecommunications better equipped with more knowledge," said the minister.

He stressed that communications with the embassies have known in recent years, many constraints, both for lack of better equipment, such as the delay in forwarding the information.
