Egypt: Industry Minister - New System for Industrial Register to Stimulate Informal Sector

Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Eng. Hatem Saleh on Thursday 14/03/2013 issued a decision on simplifying procedures of issuance of the industrial register for investors with the purpose of facilitating measures for them.

The Minister pointed out that the decision aims at developing systems and procedures of the ministry's bodies associated with the industrial activities to facilitate procedures before investors and owners of industrial establishments to obtain the industrial register in order to start operating their projects at a short time.

He stressed that the development of industrial register system is based on transferring it into a statistical register and not a regulatory register like the commercial register and tax card.
