Somalia: TPEC Regional Representatives Sworn in

Garowe — The Puntland Election Commission have concluded Thursday a three days training for 70 election officials representing the districts of Bari, Karkaar, Sanaag and Haylan.The training was held at Rugan Hotel, Garowe Online reports

The officials comprised of three district and provincial teams respectively were taught on leadership,their responsibilities and how to handle the tasks ahead which include holding the elections.

A Judge from the courts have sworn in all the officials as a sign to stamp their authority.

The chair to the Puntland election commission ( TPEC) ,Mohamed Hassan Barre who closed the training urged the officials to be fairly dedicated to the calling and uphold the oath that they have just undertaken.

The chairman pointed out that Puntland have ushered in a new historic moment and that will only be released if the commission officials seated in front of him were to work true to their callings and do their work well.

"You are expected to be fair to the society and execute the trust...may God help you in this."said Barre.

A similar training is due to be held Saturday for the second team of election officials from the remaining four districts of Nugaal,Mudug,Sool and Cayn.
