Egypt: Morsi Opens 3rd Phase of Housing Project in Sohag

President Mohamed Morsi inaugurated the third phase of a national housing project in Sohag on Saturday 16/03/2013. Morsi handed over housing contracts to a number of youths in the governorate as part of the project that comprises 3,902 housing units constructed at a total cost of EGP 335 million.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, Housing Minister Tareq Wafeq and Sohag Governor Yehia Abdel-Azim.

The president also visited one of the apartments and met with its residing family.

Earlier in the day, Morsi presided over a ministerial meeting in Sohag in the presence of Prime Minister Hisham Qandil along with a host of ministers and governors of Upper Egypt governorates.

Morsi underlined the importance of giving due attention to Upper Egypt and improve the services provided to citizens.

Morsi said that he was keen to hold this meeting in Sohag Governorate to lay out a comprehensive plan aiming to develop Upper Egypt governorates.
