The fifth Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD) opens today( March 15) with senior official meeting at the African Union Conference hall. Today's senior official's session will hold discussions on the Yokohoma Draft Declaration/Action Plan of TICAD V.
The ministerial session which will open tomorrow will discuss on a number of agenda's on March 16 and 17.
The meeting will be attended by ministers of African countries and senior officials representing international organizations.
These includes Dr. Tedros Adhanom, Japan's Foreign Minister Mr. Fumio Kishida, CEO of NEPAD Dr. Ibrahim Mayaki , Chairwoman of the AUC Dr. Dlamini Zuma .
The two day meeting will discuss on opportunities and challenges of trade and investment and peace and stability of the continent.
Thew deliberation will also cover the post 2015 development goals and on ways to align African position with TICAD for greater advocacy.
