Somalia: Somali Police Issue Alert for Possible Terror Attacks

Somali national police has warned that Al shabab might be planning suicide or bombing attacks in the capital, according head of criminal investigation department.

General Abdullahi Hassan Barise, head of the CID and spokesman of the Somali police however said that the security services are on full alert and ready to prevent any attack in the capital city.

General Barise, who spoke to journalists in Mogadishu, said that Al shabab has smuggled new foriegn fighters who are anarchists and criminals in their own home lands, into Somalia so they could ignite violence in the capital

This warning came as Somali secuirty forces launched sweeping security operations in some of the capital where they rounded up hunderds of Al Shabab suspects.
