Nigeria Spent U.S.$620 Million On Sugar Importation in 2012

The Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), Dr. Latif Busari, has revealed that Nigeria spent $620 million on the importation of raw sugar last year.

Busari who stated this in Abuja during a recent NAN forum, expressed regret that levies were not paid on over 99 per cent of the sugar imported into the country.
