Nigeria: Maritime Workers Berate NIMASA Over Implementation of Cabotage Law

Workers in the nation's maritime sector have berated the management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) over alleged poor implementation of the nation's cabotage law.

Speaking under the umbrella of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), the workers accused the management of NIMASA of not carrying out its oversight function of detaining foreign vessels that have violated the nation's constitution. This, they noted, had led to incessant abuse of the expatriate quota by foreign sailors.
