Egypt: Justice Minister Asks to Be Relieved

The Minister of Justice Counselor Ahmed Mekki asked the Cabinet on Wednesday 20/3/2013 to relieve him from his post in rejection of demonstrations against court rulings, besieging courts and prosecutions, and instigation campaigns by media.

The Cabinet asked him to continue his assignments.

In statements, Mekki said the government is keen on achieving the interests the nation and maintaining independence of the judiciary.
