Luanda — Angola has effectively accomplished the objectives of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), evident in consolidation of peace and political stability, and the level of growth and economic management.
This was stated by the representative of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in Angola, Mario Felix, who was speaking on Friday to the press on the sidelines of the solemn ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the creation of the organisation.
According to him, after the achievement of lasting peace the country has been engaged in promotion of democracy, good governance, respect for human rights and implementation of strategies for poverty reduction.
Among several objectives of NEPAD, Mario Felix highlighted the political stability, high economic growth, sustainable development as well as accelerated sub-regional and continental economic integration in order to guide the development of the African continent in the twenty-first century.
The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) is a vision and a framework for the renewal of the African continent, based on a shared understanding that it is essential to eradicate poverty in Africa and place African countries on the path of economic growth and sustainable development.
