Confusion seems to trail the planned meeting between the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the merging opposition parties under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as INEC has denied any notification of the meeting, which eventually did not hold yesterday.
The merging opposition parties - the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) - were expected to meet with the chairman of INEC, Prof Attahiru Jega.
