Ugandan athlete Moses Kipsiro has said that he gave up a vital chase for a medal at the IAAF World Cross-country championships in the final lap, when the snowy air blurred his vision.
He was among several other athletes that complained about the sun's reflection off the snow which affected their visibility. "I could no longer see and had to run alongside objects. My eyes were paining," said the former silver (Amman 2009) and bronze (Bydgoszcz 2010) medalist.
