Namibia: Separation of Powers Must Be Challenged - Namrights

NAMRIGHTS executive director Phil ya Nangoloh has requested Attorney General Albert Kawana to make an application in the Supreme Court - which is also Namibia's constitutional court - to order that Cabinet ministers cannot be members of parliament at the same time.

Drawing from the Namibian Constitution, Namrights further wants the Supreme Court to rule that all Cabinet ministers should vacate their parliamentary seats, and that the court should enforce the separation of powers and checks and balances.
