press release

As the world celebrate the life and death of Jesus Christ, particularly his crucifiction and resurrection, South Africans will also take part in the annual Easter celebrations in various ways.

In observing this important religious fest, the African National Congress wishes all South Africans a peaceful and fulfilling Easter weekend. To many South Africans this period is a significant religious season characterised by mass worship and fellowship gatherings. To others it a period to connect and spend quality time with their loved ones. Let us ensure that as we celebrate this period, we do so in the true spirit of Christianity of spreading goodwill.

It is unfortunate that this period also marks a period that experiences an increase in road carnage which is costly in terms of lives that are lost annually. We call on all road users to take extra cautionary measures to ensure that our roads are safe and lives protected. Let us use our roads responsibly let us save lives!

We take this opportunity to wish all South Africans and those visiting our country, particularly those attending the BRICS Summit, a Happy Easter Weekend.
