South Africa: ANC Must Refrain From Interfering With the Lawful Democratic Processes in KZN Municipal Councils

press release

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in KwaZulu Natal has called for the African National Congress (ANC) to refrain from interfering with the lawful democratic processes in the Province's municipalities.

IFP's comes after ANC lost two High Court Applications with costs against the IFP after trying to stop democratic processes of the uMvoti and Nquthu Municipal Councils.

"The ruling party needs to stop serving its own interests and undermining the law when it comes to Provincial Municipalities. ANC needs to respect the will of the people through a vote cast in their respective Municipal Councils and not waste Court's time to help them," said Hon. Blessed Gwala, Leader of the Official Opposition and IFP National Chairperson.
