Nigeria: Fayemi, Oni, Others Mourn Oluwole's Death

29 March 2013

Ado-Ekiti — Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, former governor Segun Oni and the state chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Chief Jide Awe, have expressed shock on the death of the publisher of the Tribune titles, Chief Oluwole Awolowo.

In separate statements yesterday, the trio said the death has robbed the Awolowo's family and the nation of one of its brightest citizens. Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, regretted that death has robbed the Awolowo clan of a shinning star who had been a motivator of the family since the demise of the patriarch, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
