Egypt: Minister - No Pardon for Mubarak Except Through Public Referendum

Minister of Justice Counselor Ahmed Mekki said that granting former president Hosni Mubarak a pardon can be only done through a public referendum.

The current Egyptian president himself can not grant Mubarak a pardon, Mekki said, adding that brining to justice former presidents of the Arab spring countries causes worries to many incumbent presidents in other countries.

These comments were made during an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher on Thursday 28/3/2013.
