Nigeria: Influx of Strange Herders Is Threat to Security - Sokapu

Kaduna — The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SUKAPU) said yesterday that the influx of strange herders that cannot be identified by their leaders in the area is a big security threat. National President of SOKAPU Dr. Ephraim Goje stated this yesterday while speaking to journalists in Kaduna, saying pockets of night attacks experienced in the area is as a result of the mass exodus of the herders from Plateau, Bauchi and Gombe states.

Goje urged Kaduna State governor Muhktar Ramalan Yero to address the issue. "It has been reported that about 200 Fulani hersmen who flee from Plateau and other states are now taking refuge in some of the Southern Kaduna communities. The governor should send them back to where they came from, they cannot create trouble somewhere and run to Southern Kaduna for refuge. He should not blame anybody if the communities in Southern Kaduna decided anything different because enough is enough," he said.
