Tanzania: Cleric Touts Peace Among Religious Groups

THE National Christian Forum of Tanzania has requested the government to act tough against individuals abusing their religious faith to advance personal hatred sentiments against other faith.

Reading the pronouncement prepared by Bishops from the Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT), Tanzania Episcopal Conference, (TEC), Pentecostal Church in Tanzania (PCT) and the Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) who met in Dar es Salaam on March 8, this year, Bishop Amon Kinyunyu of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), Dodoma Diocese said in essence there is no hostility between Muslims and Christians in the country but bad elements should be rooted out.
