Gambia: Fifa Renews Normalisation Committee Term Fa Blasts Clubs' Claim As 'Misleading and Egoistic'

Gambia Football Normalizing Committee has been handed a renewal of mandate by World Football governing body, Fifa, Foroyaa Sport can reveal. This new development was revealed last week Thursday via a statement a month or so away from the Football Association's congress. The Normalisation Committee's mandate is refreshed just two days before end of their current six month term -also renewed October last year.

The new term, to run till end of June -a thing that legitimizes government-backed NC instituted as replacement to dissolve erstwhile GFA executive. The renewal, addressed to FA serving chairman OB Conateh, is triggered after FIFA executive committee were detailed during a meeting in Zurich on February 13th 2013 and subsequently requested the FA to hold a new general assembly with clubs in GFA competition, according to the release signed by the Normalising body's Public Relations Officer. "Under these prevailing circumstances, the FIFA Executive Committee decided to extend the deadline of the GFA Normalisation Committee until 30th June, 2013 in order to afford the Normalization Committee ample time to complete the roadmap leading to the election of new office bearers" the statement said, lauding its stakeholders and the Sports ministry for their unwavering backing, while it "envisages a brighter future for the coming period". 13th April slated for adoptive congress A new date has been scheduled for the re-adoption of the draft constitution following an executive meeting held last week by the FA. This development is prompted after FIFA's rejection of the final document where the football governing body later uncovered, upon investigation, that some of the clubs that voted during the December 8th 2012 adoptive congress -do not at all exist.
