Nigeria: Merger - Chaos in Plateau CPC

Jos — A major disagreement broke out yesterday within the Plateau State chapter of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) following Monday's inauguration of the five-man advisory committee on merger as a section of the state exco has refused to recognize the committee.

Leader of the opposing group and state publicity secretary of CPC, Evangelist Moses Mandong who addressed newsmen yesterday in Jos said that "the state exco did not hold any official meeting in regard to the said committee saying the action is the handiwork of the state chairman and five others who are twisting the activities of the party to the detriment of the entire exco in the state".
