Uganda: Star Trail - Lugudde Shines At FNL

The All-Star Friday Night Lights (FNL) currently in its 3rd season was a good idea by the brains behind the whole competition - Castle Lite. It was all about swagg and possibly the night's main attraction was the slum dunk competition. A lot of you will argue that Joseph Ikong's dunk over three men was the best, but that jump by Isaac Lugudde aka LK4 over Miss Uganda 2012 second runner-up Josephine Soraya Nabakooza on a boda boda was too swaggerific. The fear of stepping on a hot babe dressed to kill while the whole world was watching must have inspired him to jump even higher. We at Star Trail gave him 10/10.

Lil Wayne's DJ to rock Buzz Teens awards:

Remember how Talent Africa brought Chris Brown's official spinner, DJ Babey Drew? Another high-profile deejay, DJ 4our 5ive who is Lil Wayne's official DJ, is set to represent Cash Money at this year's Buzz Teens awards set for May 11. Star Trail has learnt that the organisers wanted to bring Lil Wayne himself but could not afford the platinum rapper to the world's pothole capital - Kampala, so they settled for his DJ. Strangely reminds Star Trail of how the government wanted to net rebel leader Joseph Kony, but still made big news out of 'capturing' his Kaunda suit...

Anyway, the Buzz Teens awards are normally a big do, attended by little girls in hot pants and styles in all colours of the rainbow. The stage is always graced by the cream of Uganda's urban performers like Michael Ross, Baboon Forest and the teens' favourite rapper Navio with DJ Shiru on the ones and twos. DJ 4our 5ive is a welcome addition. The nomination list is already out.

P-Unit bails out of carnival:

Kenya's P-Unit, the hip hop group consisting of Frasha, Gabu and Bon-Eye, refused to leave their hotel rooms to come and perform at the East African carnival at Kiwatule during the Easter weekend. The trio who had been paid 50 per cent wanted the balance before they could step on stage, and the organizer tried to reason with them in vain. They locked themselves up. But Nameless, Naziz and Wyre accepted and the show that was threatened by the heavy rains went on.

Gareth Onyango quits Club Rouge:

After four years of working at Club Rouge as Marketing Manager alongside his baby mama Nickita Bachu, Gareth Onyango finally called it quits over the weekend. Local tabloids had already started a rumour of how he was going to quit over non-payment. A post on his wall disputed the allegations. It read: "I would like to dispute media reports of how I left coz of non-payment. I would like to categorically state that Rouge doesn't owe me any money. My departure and Nickita's was by mutual agreement!!"

His tenure at Club Rouge was successful especially the hosting of meet-and-greet parties, the biggest being Konshens'. Gareth was often dogged by sex scandals involving numerous city girls. He was also at the centre of the catfight by Doreen Kabareebe after she was dumped by UK-based Nigerian promoter, Chinedu Ikohora of Cee Cee Entertainment.

Bebe Cool attacks:

Bebe Cool has again attacked his nemeses in his latest song, Coccidiosis. In the song, Bebe is believed to be attacking Chameleone who was declared the tenth richest musician in Africa. In one line he says: "You say you are rich but you are selling off your property."

According to Wikipedia, Coccidiosis is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract of animals, caused by coccidian protozoa. The disease spreads from one animal to another by contact with infected faeces or ingestion of infected tissue. We are still trying to find out from Bebe why Coccidiosis of all song titles!

Kenzo, Jamal in the dock:

Kampala Capital City Authority has issued summons to singers Jamal and Eddie Kenzo for littering the city with their posters. The two will be appearing at a KCCA court tomorrow. Also on the wanted list are Bobi Wine and Musa Kavuma of KT Promotions.

Kavuma is accused of organizing a show at Kyadondo rugby grounds letting his patrons step on the green area. Mbu he was supposed to have told them that it was a no stepping area and since he didn't do that he is now wanted by KCCA. Meanwhile KCCA has organized April 12 as the day they are meeting all musicians to sensitize them on how to share the city.

Mega Dee to wed:

After relocating from Kampala to Jinja, singer Mega Dee seems to have left the jinx behind. He wrote on his Facebook wall last Saturday: "I AM [MARRYING] WULULULULULU..."

He has also acquired himself a Mercedes Benz and now owns a public address system that he hires out. His style of walking has also changed and he has distanced himself from all who laughed at him during those trying times when he was the king of flopped music concerts.

Kudos, man!
