Liberia: Neglect Claims Rebuffed - Late President Blah 'Was Never Abandoned, Executive Says'

Former Head of State Moses Blah's death and the perceptions that the Government of Liberia abandoned him during his darkest hour may not have been as bad as many have been led to believe. Presidential Press Secretary Jerolinmek Piah contacted to address the growing controversy which has followed the late head of state's passing, told FrontPageAfrica Tuesday, that in addition to the US$2,000 monthly stipend, Blah received from government, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has personally been at the forefront of assisting the former head of state.

"He was not abandoned at all," said Piah.
