Nigeria: Katsina Govt Releases 700,000 Doses of Measles Vaccines to Lgas

The Katsina State Government on Thursday released 700,000 doses of measles vaccines to the 34 local government areas of the state, to accellerate control of the disease.

Dr Muawuya Aliyu, the Executive Chairman of the state Primary Health Care Development Agency, said in Katsina while distributing the vaccines, that immunisation had since commenced in the five local government areas with high number of reported cases.

The chairman also said that the exercise would start in the remaining 29 local government areas this Thursday, to address the menace.

He assured the public of the government's commitment toward controlling measles and other child-killer diseases in the state.

Aliyu urged parents to take their children to designated centres to be immunised.(NAN)
