Sudan: Tribal Clashes in Central Darfur Continue, 73 Killed - Source

Umm Dukhun — Hostilities between two tribes in Central Darfur erupted on Thursday following an apparent successful mediation that seemed to prevent 4,000 gunmen from battling each other just hours before.

The hostilities between the Misseriya and Salamat tribes in Umm Dukhun, Central Darfur, have continued for the fifth consecutive day in complete absence of the authorities, witnesses informed Radio Dabanga. Dozens of people were reportedly killed and many others were injured, in addition to a number of missing persons. Clashes erupted between the rivaling tribes on Saturday and Sunday.
