Kenya: Armed Gang Raids Nairobi Office of Construction Company

Gunmen posing as police officers raided the Nairobi offices of SBI International Holdings AG construction company on Sunday (April 7th), stealing 7.9 million shillings ($93,000) from the company's managers, Kenya's The Standard reported.

The attackers reportedly gained access to the offices by claiming to be Criminal Investigation Department officers carrying out an investigation. According to a police report, the three walked into the directors' offices and demanded cash.

Police arrested two managers after their stories differed from the accounts given by security guards, Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said.

"We held them for further questioning after it emerged there were some missing links," he said. "We have, however, released them on bail pending the outcome of the investigations."
