Kenyatta Faces High Expectations, Serious Challenges

Nairobi and Wajir — Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta set expectations high as he pledged to uphold the constitution and implement devolution in government, strengthen food security, and improve regional trade during his inauguration Tuesday (April 9th) at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi.

Kenyatta, at 51, is Kenya's youngest president and the son of Kenya's first president Jomo Kenyatta. In his inaugural address to the nation, Kenyatta said he would champion the rights of all Kenyans and uphold the constitution so that democracy takes root in Kenya.
