Lesotho: SADC Gender Protocol 2012 Barometer 2012 Lesotho

document

The 2012 Lesotho Gender Protocol Barometer is the fourth annual tracking report of country's performance against the 28 targets of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Gender and Development set for 2015.

The Southern Africa Gender Protocol Alliance, represented in Lesotho by Women and Law Southern Africa Trust - Lesotho country office, has conducted this audit annually.

Lesotho has signed and ratified the SADC Gender Protocol. The 2012 barometer shows that the country has made significant progress towards meeting the 28 targets of the SADC Gender Protocol.

However more still needs to be done as the clock is ticking towards the 2015 deadline which is also in line with the Millennium Development Goal number three on gender equality.
