The Federal Government has extended completion on the rehabilitation of Onitsha-Enugu carriageway and the reconstruction of Owerri-Omanelu road projects till 2014 in order to allow the contractors finish all that is needed to be done as government is desirous to commission the projects in record time.
The contracts which were awarded to Arab Contractors Nigeria Limited in November 2010 at the cost of N28 billion was given a mandate of 30 months within which to complete the projects, but due to paucity of funds, the job had delayed beyond the duration.
