Steve Biko has moved closer to snatching the GFA domestic league championship maintaining their top spot lead at the end of the first round. The Bakau outfit took advantage of champions Real De Banjul's late slip up to extend their lead to four points.
Alagei Sarr's men should close in the margin to keep up the chase in usurping Steve Biko from the top spot. But when the all whites lost to Sea View -their first defeat of the season- 10-man Steve Biko ensured they pounce on the presented chance to go four points clear of the second place holders with a victory over Young Africans. Elsewhere Bakau United slugged out a goalless affair with Interior while Gamtel put their woes behind to run over Gambia Ports Authority to go fourth on the standing of sixteen points.
Goals from Ebou Kanteh and striker Bully Drammeh settled for a 2-2 draw between Brikama United and Armed Forces. The West Coast Region outfit is third on seventeen points with the Soldiers sixth on the standing. Hawks remains at the basement despite a rare 1-0 win over Samger and are just a point below Young Africans who are on ten points. Interior is 7th, GPA 8th and Sea View 9th.
