Gambia: Taiwanese Embassy, Health Ministry Sign Agreement On Maternal Health Improvement Programme

In an effort to reduce the maternal morbidity & mortality rate in The Gambia, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of The Gambia have signed the "Agreement on the Maternal Health Improvement Programme in The Gambia" on behalf of their respectively Governments, a press release from the Taiwan Embassy revealed.

Following the agreement, the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) will fund the programme to improve the maternal health care services in the Upper River Region (URR) of The Gambia from September 2012 to December 2015 (3 years).
