Egypt: Spokesman - Prosecutor Who Ordered Whipping Drunken Citizen Referred to Judicial Inspection

Public Prosecution Spokesman Counselor Mahmoud el-Hefnawi confirmed that the incident of the prosecutor of "Matai" who ordered to whip a drunken citizen 80 times is true.
Hefnawi added during a telephone conversation with "Al Hayat al Youm" TV program that Prosecutor General Talaat Abdullah canceled the prosecutor's decision and the man was referred to judicial inspection.
