MBIRA star Chiwoniso Maraire is scheduled to join sungura ace Alick Macheso this month in Ethiopia where they will perform at that country's 50th independence celebrations in Addis Ababa.
The queen of mbira will grace the celebrations at the invitation of the Ethiopian government.
Chiwoniso or simply Chii to her adoring fans, is one of Zimbabwe's most successful female musicians. In a career spanning 20 years, Chii is one of popular female mbira musicians who regularly performs her brand of entrancing and uplifting tunes at The Book Café.
