It is a long time since that fateful day in April 2011 when the national cricket team was relegated from Division II to Division III. Not only did it show how low cricket had fallen but Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) lost a hefty $350,000 high performance grant from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Two years later, Team Uganda is travelling to Bermuda for the World Cricket Division Three League tournament starting April 28 to May 5 in an attempt to return to Division Two; short of which will have major ramifications. Not that Martin Suji, Team Uganda's coach, has done a lot to quell the concerns.
