Liberia: U.S. Film Puts Former Liberian Veep in Spotlight

An 8-year-old Bennie Warner's childhood encounter with a man making marks on white paper is now the subject of a powerful new documentary out of the U.S. State of Arkansas which has brought the Vice President to William R. Tolbert to the big screen.

The film begins in a small Liberian Village in 1943, when 8 year old Bennie Warner sees a man making "Black Marks on White Paper". The experience, according to filmmaker Bud Hager, establishes a vision, which will propels him to literacy, faith, teaching and eventually to the vice presidency in 1977.
