Namibia: Cattle Truck Overturns Near Airport… Spca Fumes Over Cop Blunder

Windhoek — The Windhoek Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has slammed what it terms the insensitive and pathetic manner in which the public and law enforcement officials dealt with the tragic airport road accident involving a large cattle truck on Monday this week.

The SPCA confirmed that no distress call was made to the animal shelter to report the accident in which the cattle truck collided with a sedan vehicle, delaying rescue efforts for scores of injured cows and their calves. This lack of concern for animal welfare resulted in dead and dying animals lying strewn across the road and squashed under the truck for nearly five hours before any help arrived at the scene.
