Tunisia/Angola: Recreativo DA Caála Hampered to Travel to Tunisia

Luanda — Recreativo da Caála did not travel on Thursday to Tunísia due to technical hindrance, where they are expected to face Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia, in the second leg match of the eighth finals of the last eliminatory, qualifiers for group phase of the Cup of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Speaking to the press at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, the chairman of the referred club, Horácio Mosquito said that the hindrance that precluded them to travel to Tunisia is out of the reach of Recreativo da Caála.

"We did all our best, we planned to travel today, but we were informed in the morning by the deputy chairman of Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and also SonAir that Angolan airplanes are not allowed to land in Tunisian air space", he said.

According to him, at this time, the team is in the hotel and on Friday the managing board of Recreativo da Caála will try, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to resolve the situation through diplomatic ways.

"If it is possible, we will travel by Ethiopian Airlines and arrive in Tunisia on Saturday", said Horácio Mosquito.
