Egypt/Tunisia: Ahly's Hamdy - It's Going to Be Tough

Defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt entertains Tunisia's CA Bizertin this Sunday in the 2013 Orange CAF Champions League second round second leg at Cairo's Air Defense Stadium. The first leg played a fortnight ago in Bizerte ended in a barren draw. Al Ahly seeks to continue their title defending mission, and striker El Sayed Hamdy said that his team knows well what's at their stakes against a tough opponent. Hamdy spoke to Cafonline.com before the game.

"We know we're going to face a tough mission", Hamdy said, "but we will do our best to achieve the result that allows us to guarantee qualification to the group stage. We watched a record for the first leg and for some of CA Bizertin matches and we know they're a strong team with some talented, physical and fast players. We'll do our best to win this game".

The Egypt's international striker admitted the game is going to be difficult for both sides and added "Al Ahly is the defending champion, and we play every game to win. On the other side CA Bizertin is a good team and will give their all too. Our technical staff had their homework done and told us about their positives and negatives, and they will definitely have the best tactics for this game".

Regarding the first leg goalless draw, Hamdy refuted claims that this is a positive result for his side. "It's not a positive result for Al Ahly. Our opponents need a win or a positive draw, and this makes the mission even more difficult. We have to work hard to win and qualify to the group stage. We'll play behind closed doors and that deprives us of our supporters' advantage, but still we'll do our best to win", he added.

Hamdy considered being the title holders an extra pressure on his teammates shoulders. "Every team plays to beat us as we're the champions and the continent's biggest team. But we can achieve the needed result as we want to defend our title successfully. As a striker my mission is to score goals. If the technical staff gave me the chance to play I'll definitely try to score for my side", Hamdy concluded.

Al Ahly against CA Bizertin is to be played at the Cairo's Air Defense Stadium on Sunday, with the aggregate winner qualifying to the mini league stage, while the loser will join the Orange CAF Confederation Cup additional eight finals.
