Somalia: Leaders and Other Politicians Congratulate Shabelle Media Group As They Mark Their 11th Anniversary

Shabelle media network is celebrating its 11th anniversary today. Abdi Fatah Ibrahim Sabriye, a Somali politician applauded the media group and its workers during the annual celebrations.

Mr. Abdi Fatah said that the staff of Shabelle media worked hard in difficult environment and some of its workers murdered while on duty but that did not stop the remaining staff from working. He sent condolence to the friends and families of those murdered while working for the media group and encouraged the current members to continue working for the public.

Mohamed Abdullahi Carig is another figure head who sent his congratulation message to the media group and members of its staff.

Mr. Carig who was the former spokesman of Banadir region and currently working as a journalist in Banadir region added that Shabelle media group worked on transparency and aired genuine news across the region.

Mr Carig urged the working staff of Shabelle to continue with their good work of providing authentic news to its public regardless of the dangers they faced.

Shabelle media group was established in 2002 and is celebrating its 11th anniversary today 6th of May 2013. The media group has suffered different casualties as some of their staff was murdered in the capital of Mogadishu.
