Namibia: Outcome of Barman Bail Application Known Today

Windhoek — A young man who allegedly killed his girlfriend in November last year in the Golgotha section of Katutura during the birthday party of the couple's four-year-old daughter will find out today whether or not he will be granted bail.

The accused, Jeffrey Barman (21), made his first court appearance before Magistrate Cosmos Endjala on a charge of murder in November 2012. During the hearing last year, the State represented by Menencia Hinda objected to the accused being granted bail, arguing that that it would not be in the public interest. Barman then filed for a formal bail application that commenced on April 23 this year.
