Tanzania: To Eat or Not to Eat? Tanzanians and Non-Tanzanians Will Ask

The on-going heated debate of who or how to slaughter animals for human consumption is certainly taking the Tanzanians towards the edge of the cliff. Some observers strongly feel that apart from breeding confusion, discrimination and hatred, Tanzanians will end up asking themselves whether to eat or not to, this meat or that meat. Some butchers and butchery owners also have more or less same feelings and they see this business going into doldrums.

The debate is now increasingly being contested on religious basis, especially involving Muslims and Christian points of view. The discussion seems to be more of emotional arguments than rationalism. If the chain of debate is not controlled, the seeds of discrimination and hatred will start germinating.
